I'm working my way through my to-read list and I stumbled upon this editorial in PLoS Computational Biology on the upcoming challenges and expected developments in Computational Biology:

There's a lot in there that's only very briefly touched upon, but still worth having a read.
Maybe a follow-up question from myself toward the audience with diverse interests that we have here. What do you think are going to be the next major advances in your (sub-)field?
For example, one thing which is keeps coming up in a lot of the new projects that I have been encountering is the concept of multi-omics data. That is measuring for a given condition, disease, etc the genome content, the transcriptome, the proteome and beyond. And then integrating and combining all of this data. Cool stuff but very tricky to accomplish.
Discussion on the latest advances in the field. Use this forum to share articles, proceedings that you recently read/reviewed/published.
