Post by danfdeblasio » Tue Jun 28, 2016 4:21 pm

Are you going to be going to ISMB 2016? If so when are you getting in and where (if not the Swan and Dolphin) are you staying?

Hi All,

I am arriving the 6th and staying untill the end of ISMB and staying at the Dolphin hotel :)!

Would some of you be interested to man the SC booth during the conference?
It is actually great for networking and you are never alone, so always fun the chat with other SC members.

I have made a scedule here:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing

My number is 0032 478 35 65 32. I would recommend to watsapp me, since it is a Belgian number ;).
Twitter: @cuypersb
LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/pub/bart-cuypers/57/b50/547

Hope to see you all. Especially at SCS, the social event.
I also want to point out the junior PI workshop on Sunday. The chair (Lucia Peixoto) is an ex-SC leader. She noted me that it could be extremely interesting for people that want to persue an academic carreer. Also already PhD students, because time goes fast and sometimes you can even apply for your first grant before the end of your PhD, she said (or at least have a plan). For example:
"Climbing the grant ladder: The importance of establishing a record of funding early in your career
Part A: Presentation: Outline of funding opportunities for early career scientists by stage. Lucia Peixoto"

There is a (free beer!) social event linked to this on Monday evening, I am going for sure.

Cheers,

Bart
